Thanks for the advertising on other forums Veedurb, I wanna get at least 100 signatures by the deadline. I know one postman has over 1500 sigs by hand, but obviously the more total sigs we have and if its from different sources the better chance we get what we want.
If i dont get what I want, I may have to start signing all paignton movies from now on as "This movie had a total budget of £1.80 parking fee"
NB HORSE users and camper vans will also be affected. We also pay one of the highest council taxes in England because we live in a tourist area by the sea. So why should we pay more to access the sea?
its the camper vans/any old s**t that stay there for a weeks thats 1 of the reasons the council are doing this.but mostly its plain easy to put a meter then up the charge each year. i have witnessd at least a hundred dog owners who when the winter ban is lifted appear from no where.. in the summer where do they go?????ive seen s**t bags, pilles of the stuff, never see a dog warden anywhere ever ...aint nice when ya kids are tryin to build a sand castle..let them anoying we dont care if our dog pees on ya board lot pay for the so called maintenance better than parkin meters....this sea front is paid for firstly by the local tax payer/2ndly by the poor pier shop owners who will pay 3times if this comes about ,.thirdly by any one who pays car tax to park on it..........its opens sept to may which is generaly low season so is mainly used by locals so it aint a holiday makers tax o no..wont want to upset them...preston in the summer, apart from 3hr zone, is a beach hut owners parkin zone (unless your lucky)so they will pay 3times...i just hope this parkin meter c**p doesnt happen..if it does then f**kyou nik bye bye.......................................................you have my and my familys vote tbs..jt

I've not spoken to one person who has a good word to say about the mayor.... and this seems to be the last straw.. His vision of a grand Torquay is money centred and doesn't take account of quality of life and what locals actually want. I do find him self publicising and self centered. I really hope this matter goes to a public meeting so there can be a show of public feeling.

Lowering parking fees?
Am I the only one that seem to remember this but when Nick Bye became mayor, didn't he pledge to lower parking fees?
