8th March 2010 - f..ffrii..ken freeezen !!

Nice session at Combe Cellars. We measured the wind at 25-30 mph as we rigged up and had second thoughts about going in. I was over powered on 5.5m. Easterlies were raw!!!!! Temperature measured at around 4 degrees when we finished at 1230. Felt like zero. Lee pulled off a nice Duck Gybe and heli tacks. Here's a few pics which I took from some film I shot from the water. I got to say Lee... nailed every hmmm Heli Tack.

I met the same man.... with a dog. Grey hair. He said that he sailed one day when it was cold and his new sail froze and shattered........ well I just picked up my new kayak paddle and ran!! I think we do it... because the men in the white coats haven't found us yet.....cos'there still looking for the man with the dog and the frozen boom! Check out out the last pic... before the sail rotation your hand wasn't at the boomshaka position to rotate the sail ... hence you went in. I'm no expert the guy with the dog told me... lol.

Are you changing your feet

Are you changing your feet and looking to flip the rig at the same time there Lee??

trying to. holding in a clew

lee's picture
trying to. holding in a clew first possion as you start to rotate is hard as well there was quite alot of power in the sail. you got me thinking rob might have to have another look at btw

have you got showing off 2?,

have you got showing off 2?, it's covered pretty well on there too.. good tips for flippin rig on it too.. I'm no expert but if you're doing clew first get your back hand further down the boom and kinda pull down on the boom through clew hand to take the power..

Looking at showing off the dude, brian, changes feet before flipping rig to help balance..

easier said than done though.. roll on warmer weather so falling in doesn't matter so much ahy!
