Windsurfing Gallery Update

A few peeps mentioned they were heading to Preston/Paignton for a windsurfing session this morning. I grabbed my camera and headed over as I had a few spare hours before work. Ended up being a good turnout and as always, it's great to see all the familiar faces!

The forecast was for 12 mph , but it felt like 20-25 mph. I was maxed on a 6.0m, got spanked by a wave on the way out on my final run and was forced to do the swim of shame to catch up with kit. Phil showed me how it's done with a 6.7m. The north easterly had been blowing for a few days so it kicked up a nice swell. Really nice session well placed on my day off. Stand out sailers were Rod, and a chap with the green sail (I'm sorry I don't know your name perhaps you could let us know. EDIT: his name is Lee), got some great jumps in.

Well the swell is still running... I hope it's on, with no wind, for a quick morning surf tomorrow!

Windsurfing Gallery Update

We got the session alert from JT. SE-SSE winds picking up with the temperature dropping. Danny was primed with his long range lenses and poised to take the pics. JT delivered with his fearless jumps, delivering motivation to me in the bucket fulls to push myself on. A great session and I'm looking forward to the next.....maybe some wakeboarding.

Coombe Cellars Knights Windsurfing Video!

Torbay Surfing was out filming yesterday at Coombe Cellars....Maxed out 5.5 westerly conditions. The senior windsurf masters were down and pulling out all the stops, showing us how its done! 1 hour of tape was recorded and cut down to 6 minutes for your viewing pleasure. Many thanks to all the windsurfer knights that took part in the video.

Windsurfing Gallery Update

Below is a link to the new windsurfing shots (a couple kitesurfing ones too) photographed last Sunday. I also recorded some more video of the day as well as some helmet camera footage. This footage as request of some of the members will be in a re-edited version of the 'Torbay Windsurfing' video with a new soundtrack, which i will put up within the next week or so.

On another note, the news has been very windsurf orientated recently so as soon as the conditions are right, im hoping to make a surfing video.

New Windsurfing Video & Pics

We have kick-started the year 2008 with a new video (one of my favourites) and a gallery update of yesterdays force 7 southerly cross shore winds at paignton. Thanks to all the windsurfers out there for helping making an awesome video, which is also now available in a higher quality release. Unfortunately, with the help of Tim, we tried getting some onboard windsurfing footage, however lack of batteries only gave me 30 seconds of movie. Maybe next time!
