This year we have two worthy events back to back: local Preston Skimboard Festival '09 (from Sandskater & The Boathouse) and not so local Newquay Boardmasters Surf Skate & Music Festival '09. These are two awesome events, I recommend going to both if you can!

Sandskater and The Boathouse shall be hosting the 2008 Preston Beach Skimboard Contest on the 9/10 August starting at 10am. here is what they had to say:

"Following on the the success with last years event we have teamed up with The Boathouse and the community partnership again to organise a weekend of skim fun aimed directly at the local community and tourists.

Contest entry is free, but you must be a member of Skim UK for insurance purposes. (£5 junior/£10 senior). Entries are already coming in thick and fast, so get your entry in early to avoid disappointment."

Sandskater backed by Zap Skimboards and Circle One are putting on their yearly skim event at Challaborough Bay this weekend.

Yesterday we went to Challaborough Bay near Bigbury where we filled our cameras with over 300 pictures and took some new video footage. Unfortunately there were too many pics of Surfers, Bodyboarders and Skimboarders to put up on the website, so I cut them down to 120, however this update is still a TBS record breaker!

Also take a look at the new movie, we have trialed out our new waterproof camera, (unfortunately it was set at medium quality...but hey, its a learning experience!)

Just to let people know, this weekend on the 23rd and 24th of september at Challaborough Bay, Bigbury, the UK Skimfest 2006 will be taking place. We will most likely be there on Sat, however I'm told that both days are equally as popular. Visit www.skimfest.co.uk for more details on the festival.
